38 Pendatang Tanpa Izin ditahan

Pada 14 Mei 2025, Pasar Moden SS15, Subang Jaya menjadi tumpuan apabila Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia mengadakan operasi mengejut memburu pendatang asing tanpa izin (PATI). Operasi yang bermula pada 11.15 pagi ini berjaya menahan 38 individu dari Indonesia, India, dan Myanmar, yang kebanyakannya bekerja sebagai pembantu gerai di pasar basah dan pusat makanan.

Operasi ini tidak berkaitan dengan lesen berniaga atau sewa tapak – itu tugas Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ). Fokus imigresen adalah memastikan pematuhan undang-undang imigresen, tetapi tindakan ini mencetuskan reaksi bercampur, termasuk kemarahan sesetengah pihak yang mendakwa ia “menindas”.

Undang-Undang Imigresen: Adil dan Tegas

Berdasarkan Akta Imigresen 1959/63, undang-undang Malaysia tidak membezakan individu berdasarkan pekerjaan. Sama ada menjual sayur, ikan, atau bekerja di sektor lain, tanpa dokumen sah seperti pasport atau permit kerja, seseorang berisiko ditahan. Kesalahan termasuk tidak memiliki permit sah, permit tamat tempoh, atau gagal mematuhi syarat permit.

Seorang pegawai imigresen berkata: “Undang-undang tak kira kau potong sayur ke jual ikan. Kalau dokumen tak ada, memang kena angkut.” Operasi ini bertujuan menegakkan peraturan dan melindungi integriti sistem imigresen negara.

Mengapa Operasi Ini Penting?
