Menurut pegawai negeri semasa Mesyuarat Khas Jawatankuasa Pembangunan Kawasan Gua dan Bukit Batu Kapur di Perak, langkah ini adalah untuk memastikan bahawa semua pembangunan dijalankan secara sah dan selamat.

Sebelum ini, terdapat 13 kuil di Lembah Kinta yang menerima notis pemecatan pada tahun 2022 kerana isu keselamatan. Semua kuil ini terletak di tanah kerajaan dan tidak mempunyai hak milik tanah.

Keputusan ini juga datang selepas 18 aduan diterima berkaitan pembinaan tidak sah di atas tanah kerajaan. Ini telah mencetuskan semakan menyeluruh untuk memastikan bahawa semua pembangunan dijalankan mengikut garis panduan yang ditetapkan.

Semua 14 kuil gua di tanah kerajaan telah dimaklumkan untuk menghentikan sebarang kerja pembinaan sehingga garis panduan diselesaikan. Langkah ini mencerminkan pendekatan proaktif kerajaan negeri dalam mengurus tapak keagamaan di tengah-tengah kebimbangan tentang pembangunan tidak terkawal.

Peraturan Baru Untuk Kuil Gua

Garis panduan yang diperkenalkan pada Mei 2025 menekankan aspek keselamatan struktur bagi kuil-kuil yang dibina di kawasan gua batu kapur. Ini termasuk keperluan untuk penilaian geoteknikal dan persetujuan daripada pelbagai agensi teknikal.

Kerajaan negeri juga menetapkan bahawa mana-mana kuil sedia ada yang ingin membuat pengubahsuaian perlu mendapatkan kebenaran bertulis terlebih dahulu. Proses permohonan akan melalui penilaian yang ketat untuk memastikan pematuhan semua peraturan keselamatan.
