Butiran Kejadian

Kejadian berlaku pada pukul 3.20 petang di Jalan Johor Bahru-Gelang Patah-Pendas, berhampiran sebuah sekolah. Pemandu lori pasir, selepas menurunkan Bak Angkut muatan tanah di kawasan Gelang Patah, tidak menyedari bahagian belakang lori (bucket) tidak diturunkan. Ini menyebabkan lori melanggar kabel elektrik, mengakibatkan tiga tiang lampu konkrit berhampiran tumbang.

Pengesahan Polis

Ketua Polis Daerah Iskandar Puteri, Asisten Komisioner M Kumarasan, mengesahkan kejadian ini selepas pemandu lori berusia 69 tahun tampil membuat laporan polis. Pemandu, warga tempatan, memberi keterangan di Bahagian Siasatan dan Penguatkuasaan Trafik. Ujian air kencing ke atas pemandu menunjukkan hasil negatif, dan beliau tidak mengalami kecederaan.

Siasatan dan Tindakan Undang-Undang

Kes ini sedang disiasat di bawah Seksyen 43(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987. Kecuaian pemandu yang gagal mematuhi prosedur keselamatan menjadi punca utama kejadian ini, menimbulkan kesedaran tentang kepentingan pematuhan prosedur dalam mencegah kemalangan.

Kejadian ini menyerlahkan bahaya kecuaian, terutamanya dalam kalangan pemandu berpengalaman yang mungkin terlalu selesa atau tergesa-gesa. Berbeza dengan pemandu baru yang biasanya lebih berhati-hati, pemandu mahir perlu sentiasa mematuhi prosedur keselamatan untuk mengelakkan kejadian serupa yang boleh membahayakan keselamatan awam.
