Krisis Diabetes di Malaysia: Hospital Tertekan, Masa Menunggu Lama untuk Rawatan

Rakyat Malaysia masih lena dibuai mimpi keseronokan menikmati kehidupan moden tanpa menyedari letusan senyap sedang berlaku — lebih 4 juta rakyat kini menghidap penyakit kencing manis atau diabetes. Penyakit ini bukan sahaja menyerang tubuh, tetapi juga menggugat sistem kesihatan awam dan ekonomi negara.

Di Malaysia, dianggarkan 15 hingga 20 peratus daripada populasi dewasa menghidap diabetes, bersamaan kira-kira 3.6 hingga 4.8 juta orang. Sebahagian besar lagi berada dalam fasa pra-diabetes tanpa disedari. Ini bermakna hampir satu daripada lima rakyat Malaysia berisiko tinggi mengalami komplikasi serius akibat penyakit metabolik ini.

Ramai Salah Faham Tentang Ubat Diabetes

Ramai percaya bahawa dengan mengambil ubat, masalah diabetes akan selesai. Mereka menyangka penyakit ini sekadar berkaitan dengan paras gula tinggi atau risiko “potong kaki”. Hakikatnya, diabetes adalah gangguan metabolik kronik yang perlahan-lahan merosakkan sistem tubuh dari dalam tanpa disedari.

Tanpa kawalan gaya hidup yang betul, diabetes boleh menyebabkan pelbagai komplikasi serius — termasuk kerosakan buah pinggang, serangan jantung, strok, buta mata, kerosakan saraf, malah meningkatkan risiko kanser. Ubat hanya membantu mengawal simptom, bukan menyembuhkan punca sebenar penyakit.

Kapasiti Hospital dan Tekanan Sistem Kesihatan

Kemudahan hospital di seluruh negara hanya mampu menampung sekitar satu juta pesakit pada satu masa — iaitu kira-kira satu perempat daripada jumlah keseluruhan pesakit diabetes masa kini. Jika jumlah pesakit meningkat kepada empat juta atau lebih, sistem kesihatan awam akan berdepan tekanan luar biasa: wad penuh, masa menunggu rawatan bertambah panjang, dan kos pengurusan kesihatan negara meningkat mendadak.

Laporan menunjukkan masa menunggu rawatan di hospital kerajaan kini boleh mencecah antara empat hingga lapan jam. Ini bermakna satu hari penuh dihabiskan hanya untuk mendapatkan rawatan asas. Punca Sebenar dan Jalan Pemulihan

Punca sebenar terletak pada gaya hidup dan corak pemakanan moden — makan berlebihan, pengambilan makanan diproses, serta ketagihan gula tersembunyi dalam pelbagai bentuk seperti kek, roti, biskut dan tepung halus. Semua ini mengandungi gula toksik yang memberi tekanan kepada sistem metabolik tubuh.

Sebaliknya, pemakanan semulajadi dan seimbang terbukti lebih berkesan untuk memulihkan fungsi insulin dan menurunkan gula darah secara semulajadi. Gula semulajadi dalam buah-buahan adalah selamat apabila dimakan bersama seratnya (fiber), tetapi menjadi berbahaya jika dijadikan jus tanpa fiber.

Kaedah pemulihan baru yang berfokus kepada pengawalan nafsu makan, puasa terkawal (intermittent fasting), dan pemakanan rendah karbohidrat berproses telah terbukti membantu ramai pesakit pulih sepenuhnya. Malangnya, pendekatan ini kurang popular kerana memerlukan disiplin tinggi dan perubahan gaya hidup menyeluruh.

Kesimpulan: Kesedaran adalah Rawatan Pertama

Langkah pertama untuk menangani krisis ini adalah kesedaran dan pendidikan. Setiap individu perlu memahami bahawa diabetes bukan sekadar penyakit, tetapi satu amaran bahawa sistem tubuh telah lama dibebani toksik pemakanan dan gaya hidup tidak sihat. Pemulihan sebenar bermula apabila seseorang sanggup mengubah tabiat makan, mengawal nafsu, dan kembali kepada makanan semulajadi ciptaan Allah yang penuh keberkatan.
